At Sip Tea Room, all of our menu items are made fresh in the SIP kitchen. Traditional Afternoon Tea Service features a prix fixe menu presented on a three-tier serving stand which includes:

• two baked sausage (*or veggie rolls) with HP Brown Sauce
• freshly prepared tea sandwiches (sandwich flavors are chef’s choice and change daily)
• a warm English scone
• SIP clotted cream
• preserves
• lemon curd
• mixed greens salad
• fresh fruit
• a delicate sweets selection
• pot of loose leaf tea, selected on the day of your Tea experience

Sip Tea Room’s Lighter Fare Menu is thoughtfully crafted, featuring smaller set menus, à la carte options and daily specials. Whether you are seeking a more casual dining experience or exploring our unique offerings, our Lighter Fare Menu provides a delightful array of choices.

On Thursdays and Fridays, we extend the option of our Lighter Fare to both walk-in guests and those with Lighter Fare reservations. Additionally, on Saturdays and Sundays, the Lighter Fare Menu is available exclusively to walk-in guests, contingent upon the availability of space. Given the high demand for Full Traditional Afternoon Tea Service reservations on weekends, we do not permit Lighter Fare reservations during this time.

Our tea room has very limited seating. Every guest joining us, including any children requiring a seat, must be on the reservation. We can not allow guests to “share” or “split” Full Traditional Afternoon Tea Service. Thank you for understanding.

Well-behaved children are welcome, but out environment is best suited for those 10 or older.  All guests requiring a seat must have a reservations to join us for Full Traditional Afternoon Tea Service. We can not “squeeze” in extra chairs. Strollers will need to be folded and stored during Tea Service due to lack of space. Infants may be held in arms. No highchairs available. We use fine china to serve our Tea and have a “you-break-it-you-buy-it” policy.  Please supervise children at all times.

Great question! Parking can be very tricky throughout San Francisco. Sip Tea Room is located directly across from the very popular Golden Gate Park which has limited, free street parking. Spots fill up early – especially on the weekends!

Notify your friends! We want you and your guests to enjoy your full seating experience; please tell guests who are driving to allow extra time for parking. It’s worth saying twice: PLEASE TELL YOUR FRIENDS TO ALLOW PLENTY OF TIME FOR PARKING.

Public Transportation: Locals are encouraged to use light-rail, bus or bike when possible. Here are the closest Munu Routes and Stops to our Sip Tea Room:

A note for those visiting San Francisco: Be mindful of parking signs stating limited time restrictions and street cleaning days/times. Ticketing and towing are a reality here. Never leave anything visible inside your car as daytime break-ins, unfortunately, do take place. We want you to have the best experience possible when visiting!

Sidewalk Seating

A few tables are located outdoors, under our awning.  These seats are in front of the tea room, facing Lincoln Way, across from Golden Gate Park. Available for walk-ins and Lighter Fare reservations on the weekdays. We recommend wearing layers as San Francisco weather changes quickly and can get quite chilly. Well-behaved dogs are welcome at the outdoor tables.

Yes. Our largest table can accommodate 10 guests. Perfect for birthdays, special occasions or simply gathering with family and friends. For groups of 8+, we request your tea selection in advance. You may select any two teas from our full menu, which will be provided to all guests. We have found that this works best for larger groups. Please remind your guests to allow plenty of time for parking so they may enjoy the full experience. For larger groups, please consider hosting a private party.

No outside food, cakes or beverages permitted.

No outside decorations allowed. The Tea Room is already cheerfully adorned! 

Only small gifts may be brought in, but please note there is not room to place them on your table as it will be filled with fine china, hot tea and delicious food. Any wrapping paper, bags, etc. must be taken out with you when you leave. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.

While we don’t provide offsite catering, we’re pleased to offer a straightforward takeaway service for your convenience. Simply visit our online takeaway site to place your order at least one-week in advance. Collection is available between 10:30am-11:00am Thursday-Sunday. For larger orders or special requests, please call before placing an order to ensure we can accommodate your needs.

ALLERGENS: While we will do our best to provide options that meet your needs, please be aware that we can only accommodate limited restrictions due to the nature of our kitchen operations. We kindly ask that guests with dietary restrictions notify us when making their reservation. While we take precautions, we cannot guarantee that products are prepared in exclusive allergen-free environments. Our items may contain or come into contact with common allergens such as wheat, eggs, peanuts, tree nuts, and milk.

DAIRY: Our menu items include butter, cream, and/or milk, and we are unable to fulfill requests for dairy substitutions. However, oat milk can be provided upon request as an alternative for tea.

VEGETARIAN: We proudly offer a variety of vegetarian options on our daily chef’s menu. If you prefer exclusively vegetarian items, please select the vegetarian-only option when booking reservations.

GLUTEN-FREE: We are no longer serving gluten-free items at this time.

VEGAN: We do not serve vegan cuisine at this time.

We love animals, but pets are not allowed in the tea room due to space limitations and safety protocol.

Guests with well-behaved pets may be seated in the front outdoor tables adjacent to Golden Gate Park on Lincoln Way.

As always, service animals specifically trained to aid a person with a disability are always welcome.

We make our food fresh and we do sell out! To guarantee your Tea Service, we recommend booking reservations. Once everything is sold, we head home for a cocktail.

Pro tip: For large takeaway orders, you will need to order at least 1-week in advance to guarantee that your request can be accommodated. You may place takeaways orders 30 days in advance. There is no need to wait.
