Situated directly across from San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park in the Inner Sunset District, you will find our cozy tea room offering a modern take on traditional English Afternoon Tea. Join us for a pot of piping hot tea and treat yourself to a small feast, presented on a three tier tower brimming with traditional sandwiches, delectable desserts and warm scones.

We provide SIP’s Full Traditional Afternoon Tea Experience and Lighter Fare Menu options. We make your food fresh in the SIP kitchen, so prepaid reservations are required to partake in the Full Traditional Afternoon Tea Experience, Thursday through Sunday. Reservations for the Lighter Fare Menu are not required, so swing by when you’re in need of a tea fix. If you prefer a lighter meal and want to guarantee a table for you and your pals, reservations for the Lighter Fare Menu are available on Thursday and Friday. The kitchen opens at 10:00am and closes at 2:30pm, or when items are sold out.

What makes Sip Tea Room extra special?

Sandwiches, scones and dessert selections change regularly. Fresh, local ingredients are used to create your perfect seasonal meal. These variations allow you to celebrate different flavors and seasonal ingredients throughout the year. Menus will include staple items that are guest favorites, paired with delicious new daily flavors to try. Our goal is to make each visit a unique experience.

Golden Gate Park is only a few steps away, an easy walk to explore the year-round natural resources, events and cultural history the park has to offer. Additionally, Sip Tea Room offers live music, holiday celebrations, fun activities, community events, private parties and so much more.  

Tips for your visit.

• Kindly ensure punctual arrival for your reservation. Seatings are for 1.5 hours (90 minutes) and your reserved seating begins promptly at the designated time, ensuring a seamless dining experience upon your arrival. If driving, allocate ample time for parking. City parking is challenging, especially on the weekends.
• If you have special dietary needs, please be aware that we can only accommodate limited restrictions due to the nature of our kitchen operations. If you have menu questions, kindly call before making a reservation to ensure that specific requests can be accommodated. Approved requests must be acknowledged in writing at the time of booking your Tea Experience by responding to the confirmation email. Note: our ingredients change regularly, and we are unable to accommodate menu adjustments on the day of your booking. View special dietary info on the FAQ page.
• Include all guests on your reservation; we do not “add” guests/chairs to your table on the day – this includes children. Guests are welcome to hold babies, under the age of two. Highchairs are not available. Thank you for understanding. Learn more tips on our FAQ page.
