It’s time to get back out in to the world and enjoy live, local music. Join us for a drink, tasty bites, lively conversations and fantastic musicians. This community event creates a fun space for friends and neighbors to meet and socialize.

Casual environment for 18+. Shows may be indoors or outdoors, depending on musician(s) and weather. Admission is free.

About: Jordan Samuels (Guitarist) & Ken Miller (Bassist)

Jordan Samuels: Mr. Samuels is an accomplished guitarist who has been studying, performing and teaching throughout the San Francisco Bay Area for the last twenty years. While at San Francisco State University, he completed his formal training in music composition under the guidance of Ronald Caltabiano and Richard Festinger while simultaneously pursuing a jazz studies curriculum directed by Andrew Speight and John Calloway. He has studied guitar with Randy Vincent and Bruce Forman and is strongly influenced by Wes Montgomery, Kenny Burrell, Grant Green, Barney Kessel and Peter Bernstein.

Ken Miller: Mr. Miller has extensive orchestral playing experience, having worked with the SF Symphony, SF Opera, Philharmonia Baroque Orchestras, and The Skywalker Symphony Orchestra. In addition, he is active on the Jazz scene in San Francisco, having performed with many top level players including Branford Marsalis, Bruce Forman, Mark Levine, and Mimi Fox.

About: Doug Goodkin (Pianist)

Doug Goodkin: Doug Goodkin is an internationally recognized Orff Schulwerk teacher. Recently retired from The San Francisco School where he taught music and movement to children between three years old and eighth grade for 45 years (1975-2020), he continues to regularly gives workshops for Orff Chapters throughout the U.S. and Canada, as well as presenting at State and National Conferences.

It’s always a treat to have bassist Ken Miller at SIP, as you’ll probably never hear the same thing twice. Ken has been seen all around the Bay Area playing a variety of musical styles. This time around he was joined by pianist Anne Sajdera. Together they created a two-hour set that displayed the many colors of their musical palate.

Anne Sajdera: As a pianist, composer, bandleader and accompanist, Anne Sajdera is a creative force whose music encompasses an unusually far-flung array of traditions. With musical roots spanning the globe, she melds American and Brazilian jazz to her training in European classical music, creating an utterly personal sound that’s melodically verdant, harmonically sophisticated and rhythmically compelling.

It was a treat to have the talented Ivor Collins play American classics and Irish tunes for us this month. A grand singer, guitarist, as well as a harmonicist! He had a wonderful song list and great ability to get people singin’ along, even after Karl floated in with the cool breeze. Too much fun!

About: Ivor Collins is a realtor & surfer who hails from County Waterford in Ireland. He has called San Francisco home since 2007. His musical influences are deeply rooted in Irish and American folk. His sessions include American classics with a blend of Irish tunes. Everything from Bob Dylan, Neil Young & Cat Steven’s to Coldplay, Oasis and the Dubliners. You’re sure to here a familiar tune to sing along to.

We had a fantastic birthday celebration featuring yummy cake, sparkling bubbles and a fun Beatles-Sing-Along with Steve Snelling. Happy 5th Birthday Sip Tea Room! We had a blast spending time with our family, friends and neighbors.

Steve Snelling played much-loved favorites featuring popular works by Johnny Mercer & Harold Arlen. His songs were perfect and really set the atmosphere for a relaxing afternoon in the tea room.

About: Steve Snelling is a San Francisco based jazz pianist and singer-songwriter with a playful pop sensibility. As a lifelong musician Steve has created or performed in hundreds of ensembles in diverse styles ranging from jazz and be-bop to rock, folk, gospel, country, classical, barbershop, funk, blues and bluegrass, and a head-spinning array of bands in a spectrum Steve describes as “psychedelic garage to full-on symphonic mayhem.”
